Long, one of the bastions of luxury, comfort and safety, British Motor Works (BMW) has some work to do in its native Germany. In a remarkable turn of focus or negligence, the automobile manufacturer recently finished a side-impact safety testing with its first ever F-rating. In the luxury industry, where cars are expected to perform and protect to a higher degree than their less expensive counterparts, BMW graded lower than any other luxury car tested by the insurance industry in a modern test completed this summer.

Using BMW’s 2008, 5 Series sedan, the $45,000 vehicle scored lower than the Cadillac STS and Mercedes Benz E-Class which scored higher than the BMW but behind those cars that received the highest grades available. Those ratings went to the Acura RL, the Kia Amanti, and the Volvo S80. The tests were conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Unlike the other vehicles, the BMW was the only 2008 model. The other car companies used 2007 models while BMW send the redesigned 2008 version for testing.

The purpose of the test was to look what would happen from an impact standpoint if the luxury vehicles were hit by either a sports utility vehicle or a truck that was traveling at a urge of 31mph. This is the race the institute has gauged is the break point for serious crashes to occur. The institute uses trucks and sports utility vehicles because of the weight distribution disadvantages that a sedan has against trucks and sports utility vehicles which because of increased sales are becoming roaming destructors on the roads. Over the last ten to fifteen years, the number of sports utility vehicles on the road has grown exponentially based on the popularity of the Ford Explorer and Expedition, as well as luxury entrants in the SUV market. While head-on or frontal crashes are the leading causes of death, side-impact collisions are not far gradual. Almost ten thousand people died in 2005 from side-impact collisions in the US.

In the test, all of the vehicles were equipped with standard side air bags. In cars, air bags are used to protect three indispensable areas that can lead to death in impact collisions. With the head first, collisions also can have a major impact when they cause injure to the chest area or the part of the body near the abdomen. Chest area injuries can cause collapsed lungs. While abdomen injuries can create internal bleeding problems, lacerations or other problems that can lead to death. In the test, the BMW 5 Series scored well in protecting the head. On the other hand, it scored poorly in securing the abdomen and the chest. In one of the crash testing’s, the dummy mature was injured when it was hit by the arm rest.

The BMW 5 Series comes in five models, ranging from the standard sedan to touring versions as well as a security version. The security model is an entrant into the armored car market primitive by companies that need to offer a secure transport for executives or people whose lives are considered high-interest. Always known for their sporty performance and sleek effect, BMW has entrenched itself as the performance luxury vehicle for car enthusiasts who want a comfortable ride with a splash of horsepower. Like GM’s Onstar, BMWAssist is there to help BMW owners design their directions as well as offer emergency assistance if anything is to go wrong.

With all the advances that BMW has made in the areas of EfficientDynamics to curb fuel consumption and emissions as well as High Precision Injections, BMW is ahead of the pact in design, style, and vehicle character. With their Brake Energy Regeneration, the 5 Series charges the vehicle’s battery when the car is braking, coasting, or decelerating. This will set almost three percent of fuel used in a standard vehicle’s use. With those aggressive initiatives it is a shame that BMW did not further develop the systems to protect the drivers while they are enjoying all that luxury.

BMW scored an F-rating because it left the dummy vulnerable in testing and in the luxury market, such negligence is unacceptable. If Kia can protect drivers, so should BMW.

Low cost car Insurance Quotes

Most people love to shop but when it comes to car insurance it’s like buying a pair of shoes without taking them out of the box or trying them on. Insurance companies really do offer cheaper car insurance we unprejudiced need to find vulgar cost car insurance quotes to get a good deal. Researched data findings over a number of years has shown women are in fewer accidents than men, vehicle accidents that involve women cause less damage than those that involve men. Crimes that are motor vehicle related are less by women than by men, and women have a higher percentage of passing their drivers exam test the first try than men do. For that reason women can get low cost car insurance quotes before a man.

Are women safer drivers than men? Are women more cautious drivers, or drive at a slower speed than men do? Are the vehicles, driven by women more equipped with safety features than men? There are a few things that insurance companies consider before signing a policy. The insurance companies believe women are safer drivers than men, are more cautious drivers and drive at a slower rush than men do, which is why women are offered a cheaper car insurance coverage. Women are more modest drivers than men.
Women carpool more than men do, driving to ball practice, school, and doctor’s appointments and to the grocery store, makes them more aware of their driving habits. Women don’t recount as many fender benders as men do. Maybe because they consider them less important than men do. There is less claims mean cheaper insurance.

Finding the right improper cost car insurance quotes can mean a lot when you do your research. Calling around as well as browsing online can give you the price that you can afford without dealing with several people. Settle a vehicle that is adequate for the family needs for less risk. We should all practice safe driving, male or female after all statistics prove it’s less expensive when it comes to vehicle insurance coverage and we all like to be rewarded for our efforts.
Drive safe.

There are several cheap car insurance companies. Listed here are a few and a review of what information is contained on their websites.

Progressive has claimed to be a cheap car insurance company. They offer services such as 24/7 claim service, pet accident insurance, and someone to encourage you with buying a car if yours gets totaled, and discounts for a first-rate driving picture and having more than one car insured with them. In completing a quote, individuals are asked to provide the car that they drive, personal identifying information, and whether they have any driving violations. Individuals are then offered a choice of what kind of car insurance they would like, and the amount of money they could pay for each of those insurances, which may or may not be cheaper than what they are already paying.

Geico also has claimed itself to be a cheap car insurance company. Their claim is that 15 minutes could save you up to 15 percent on your insurance. One bonus with Geico is that they do provide all the different coverages that are available and that you the consumer should contemplate having on your policy. I started a quote from them but became frustrated at the amount of information that they required. Some personal information I was allowed to opt out of giving like my phone number and social security number, but others I was not like my occupation and how worthy I am paying for my insurance currently. Geico does not provide coverage in Massachusetts.

Allstate is going a different route in being a cheap car insurance company. Their claim is a safe driving bonus for every 6 months an individual goes without an accident they can earn up to 5% of their premium. They can also earn money off of their deductible. Individuals can also receive a quote online.

Location Farm can also be considered a cheap car insurance company. They offer to their individuals information such as how considerable insurance do they need, what affects the price of their insurance, what are coverage and deductible options, and auto insurance discounts. They offer discounts for Multiple Vehicle, Multiple Line, New Vehicle Safety, Accident Free, Anti-Theft Device, Defensive Driving, Beneficial Driving, Good Student and, Driver Training. Individuals can get a quote online in about 15 minutes.

Nationwide is also a cheap car insurance company, because they claim that you can keep up to $500. They offer 100% guarantee on repairs for as long as you own the vehicle. They offer 24/7 claim service. They also offer free On Your Side Reviews to assist you with choosing discounts and coverage that are right for you.

Amica also claims to be a cheap car insurance company. They do not offer much information about their auto insurance online. However, you can complete a quote online.

Esurance offers the most information about cheap car insurance companies. Esurance allows individuals to earn a quote that compares auto insurance rates. This allows the individual to pick the best insurance information for them. Individuals can then buy the policy right online. Esurance claims that if another company offers a cheaper rate you can purchase the policy.

Consumers tend to fall into one of two distinct camps: Online shoppers and brick-and-mortar shoppers. The latter group likes to window shop; they want to watch and touch and smell things before they bring them home. The former group, on the other hand, prefers the speed and convenience and shopping from their homes.

So which is better for finding cheap car insurance: online shopping or brick-and-mortar shopping?

Shopping Online is Fast & Convenient

One of the advantages to finding cheap car insurance online is that you can compare multiple quotes almost simultaneously. It is easier to keep track of the lowest car insurance quotes if you have them all on the screen in front of you.

Some auto insurance companies will even let you compare quotes from multiple vendors through one web site. However, it is extremely important that you verify all quotes before purchase and that you provide as much upright information as possible.

According to Save Today, you will have better luck finding cheap car insurance online if you use an unbiased comparison web state. This will allow you to locate the best bets before you request a quote online.

Personalize Your Auto Insurance Quote in Person

When you shop in brick-and-mortar offices for car insurance, you will receive a more personalized quote. You will be able to ask about potential discounts that might not be included in an online compose, and you can discuss your personal history with the agent. Cheap car insurance often requires a careful examination of all variables.

Many people prefer to shop for car insurance in person because they receive better service. They get to know their agents, and their agents become familiar with their individual situations. This can lead to more discounts and better communication.

Avoiding the Sales Pitch

However, some car insurance agents are better at persuasion than others. When you search for cheap car insurance online, you don’t have to worry about someone breathing down your neck or giving you high-pressure sales pitches. If you walk away, no one gives you the foul eye.

Every consumer is different, and the route you take to find cheap car insurance depends on your personal preferences, your Internet skills, and your auto insurance experience. If you have any doubt, however, it is best to meet with an agent in person, even if you plan to manage your insurance online.
